This subseries consists of copy prints and storage envelopes that have been separated from corresponding glass plate negatives.
"Inactive" negatives and associated material had been superceded by more recent negatives at the time of their transfer from the Department of Rights and Reproductions (R&R) to the Archives. Multiple images are contained in each folder. The poor condition of negatives "Cat. 64," "Cat. 810a," and "Cat. 1102," required their disposal; they are cataloged on the item and page level in this subseries. Note that each subseries containing prints or negatives contains reproductions of different objects with little overlap. Therefore, searching across subseries for a specific object is advised. Because prints are arranged in spans, not all of the accesion numbers appear in the folder title. These accesion numbers have been cataloged in the "Accesion number" field of the Archive's collection management database, and can be retrieved by the Museum Archivist. Or, consult the corresponding subseries of negatives, which are cataloged individually.
Thirty envelopes and copy prints of the glass negatives (and one film negative) discovered in November 2012 have been interfiled numerically. As the envelope notations indiciate, these, too, were superseded by later images made by R&R. The corresponding glass (and film) negatives are in the inactive negatives subseries.
