Directly following her participation in "Philadelphia: Three Centuries of American Art", Ann Percy, Curator of Drawings, embarked upon research for an exhibition featuring Philadelphia illustrators from the 1880s to the early 1900s. The show was never realized, but in 1979 Percy co-curated an exhibition on Violet Oakley, a prominent Philadelphia illustrator and muralist. Percy's Philadelphia Illustrators records include artist files on Oakley as well as Maxfield Parrish, Henry McCarter, Felix O. C. Darley, and their many contemporaries. He subject files include research by genre, medium, technique, or location. Also included in the subject files are preparatory materials and planning documents for the unrealized exhibition.
