Delmas EAD Grant
In the Summer of 2000, the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries (PACSCL) received a grant from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation to support a two-year project to create encoded electronic versions of 22,500 pages of finding aids describing materials in the collections of 16 member libraries and archives, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art Archives. As a result of the project, the Museum converted nine paper finding aids, totaling 250 pages, into Encoded Archival Description (EAD) format. In addition, it upgraded its EAD authoring software, and archival staff received training in the creation of style sheets to support the online publication of EAD finding aids.
