You may register for programs that take place at Mount Pleasant and Cedar Grove in person at the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Visitor Services desks. Or to register by phone, call (215) 235-SHOW (7469). A nonrefundable service charge for each space reserved is added to all phone orders (Members $2.50, Nonmembers $3.00). Sharing tea with others is a custom that crosses time and continents. Learn more about these customs as a participant in a Japanese Tea Ceremony at Shofuso Japanese House and Gardens. Then tour the colonial historic house Cedar Grove to learn about tea in early America. This trolley tour provides transportation to the sites, as well as accompanying guides to narrate stories about the importance of tea culture.

Park House School Programs
Cedar Grove
Cedar Grove was the family home for five generations of the Coates, Paschall, and Morris families of Philadelphia. Colonial Life at Cedar Grove is an interactive program for elementary students, grades 3–6. Students experience both work and leisure activities of the eighteenth century as they tour the house and garden. Thursdays, 10:00–11:20 a.m.Mount Pleasant
Middle and high school students can participate in a new program, Discover Classical Architecture at Mount Pleasant, an eighteenth-century mansion in Fairmount Park. In this currently unfurnished home, students review the basic classical orders, observe craftsmen's tools, and learn about creating and designing a grand country home. Each student creates his or her own design for the "missing" mantel piece in the Upstairs Parlor.
