Here Peggy Bacon portrays a sketching session at the Whitney Studio Club in New York, founded by the art patron Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney in 1918. The artists depicted in this print include Bacon wearing glasses at the back left, Mabel Dwight with a hat and glasses in the lower left, and printmaker George Overbury “Pop” Hart smoking a pipe in the back center beside an unexpected visitor, a spider.
