Book of Hours for Paris Use
France, Paris, early 16th century

Burial, with Souls Released from Purgatory. Within a churchyard, a body is being buried in a shroud. In a separate scene visible in the background, men and women rise from their graves (or the fires of purgatory) and are carried by angels to heaven.
