Book of Hours for Sarum Use (Streeter-Piccard Hours)
Flanders, Bruges, c. 1440
Nicholas Brouwer, active 1420 to 1450

Saint John the Baptist. Dressed in a brilliant orange tunic, John the Baptist stands in a mountainous landscape holding the Lamb of God. The bell-shaped flowers in the border are typical of the workshop of Nicholas Brouwer.
