Gallican Psalter with Canticles, Litany, and Two Prayers (Lewis Psalter)

Historiated Initial D with the Anointing and Coronation of David. In the letter D that introduces Psalm 26, King David is seated on his throne, as two men place a crown on his head. The text is embellished with beast heads, pen flourishes, and feathery extensions in the margins.
