Fiske Kimball Papers : III. Architectural projects : H. New York University
Kimball remained on staff at New York University as University Architect long after his departure from the University's Department of Fine Arts in 1925. While the University hired large firms to design their projects, it was Kimball's responsibility to oversee these projects. His duties included ensuring quality in building construction and campus development, saving on costs and monitoring uniformity in style of campus buildings at Washington Square, University Heights, as well as other adjunct campuses associated with the University at the time. The files contain correspondence with pertinent individuals at the University and architectural firms, letters of appointment, reimbursement vouchers, photographs, clippings, ephemera, carpet and wall paper samples, and architectural drawings. It appears that Kimball maintained this association with New York University until his death in 1955.Arrangement
Organized into three sub-subseries, based generally on campus site: Washington Square, University Heights and Other.
