Comprised primarily of Kimball's correspondence with Julius S. Held, one of the volume's editors, about the planning and production of the book. Held and Kimball also discussed at length a party to be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate Tietze's 70th birthday, which they later cancelled because of concerns with Tietze's health. The sub-subseries also includes a small amount of correspondence with Tietze, the Gazette des Beaux Arts, and Alfred Barr of the Museum of Modern Art.
