Sugar Bowl

Tiffany & Co., New York

1837 - present

Image 1 of 21 / 2

This sugar bowl reveals the powerful influence of non-Western art on Tiffany & Company. Fashioned in the Moresque style, its design was inspired by Spanish Islamic architecture and Persian metalwork. At the 1867 Paris Exposition Universelle, Tiffany’s display received the first-ever medal awarded to an American silver manufacturer.
