Tokyo-born fiber artist Hayashibe Masako became interested in textiles and fiber arts while in Sweden, and upon returning to Japan inaugurated Spiral Workshop, her studio specializing in fiber arts. This work displays Hayashibe's recent experiments in combining textile fiber with metallic fiber; it was exhibited at the 25th Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show in 2001.
