Object Details
With McClees Galleries, Philadelphia? [1]. By descent from his grandfather to Robert Montgomery Scott (1929-2005), Philadelphia [2]; gift to PMA, 1981. 1. The frame's reverse bears a McClees Galleries label; however, Peter Rudolph of McClees Galleries could find no record of the painting, and speculates that it may simply have been framed by them (letter of January 2, 2012, in curatorial file).2. Note in curatorial file, April 10, 2000. It is unclear whether this was his maternal grandfather, Robert Leaming Montgomery (d. 1949), or his paternal grandfather, Edgar Thomas Scott.
