Sasaki Atsushi

Japanese, born 1943

Sasaki Atsushi’s skilled use of impressed patterns and slip (liquid clay) to create texture gives this piece a three-dimensional quality reminiscent of woven textiles and basketry. The matte surface is characteristic of his work.
