Plate with the Enchantress Circe (front) and the Coat of Arms of the Lanciarini Family of Rome (reverse)

This plate belongs to a group of eighteen that survive with the arms of the Lanciarini family, which were painted by several different, unidentified hands. This painter depicts the transformation of Ulysses's men into fantastic creatures instead of the swine described by Homer in the Odyssey.
