Learn about the successful career of French post-Impressionist painter Suzanne Valadon in the exhibition In Her View: Highlights from the Keith and Jim Straw Collection. After over a decade of being the model and muse for prominent male artists like Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Edgar Degas, Valadon became a full-time painter by her early 30s. She is credited with transforming the depiction of the female nude by offering a more expressive and less idealized view of women's experiences. Lily Scott, Coordinator of Interpretation at the museum, gives these 15-minute pop-up talks. Talks meet at the Information desk in the Great Stair Hall. Talks are first come, first served until a capacity of 20 is met.
