Rising Up: The Public Opening

Join us for the opening reception of Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments—everyone’s invited! We are gearing up for an energized celebration, with a Pop-Up Studio in the East Balcony, performances by the Philly All Stars Marching Band and Project Positive, and a DJ that will perform in the Great Stair Hall where food and drink will be available for purchase. This exhibition looks at boxing from ancient sculpture to contemporary art—and considers how that history converges in Philadelphia’s embrace of the Rocky statue as a monument to the city's grit and spirit.
