During Sensory Friendly Morning, families experience one area of the museum before public hours and participate in related hands-on art activities. During the program, a designated low-sensory quiet zone will be available as needed for breaks. Sensory Friendly Morning will take place before this month's Family Festival. Our low-sensory quiet zone will remain available for the entirety of the festival.

Sensory Friendly Morning is free but does require advance registration.

  • Pre-visit materials, including a photo-illustrated “Social Story” sent to all registered participants to help prepare for the experience.
  • Experience one area of the museum before busy public hours.
  • Open-ended art activities designed to be flexible for all ages and abilities.
  • Low-sensory zone available for quiet breaks.
  • Fidgets and noise-canceling headphones are available to borrow.
  • Support from occupational therapy student volunteers from Thomas Jefferson University.
