Contemporary Drawings: Philadelphia is an involvement in and a thorough look at drawings by Philadelphia-area artists as presented in an unusual cooperative exhibition by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Ann Percy, Associate Curator for Drawings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Frank H. Goodyear, Jr., Curator of the Collection, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, selected the exhibition of fifty-two artists culled from a review of the work of over two hundred artists, an interesting fact in itself. There are two exhibitions accompanied by one catalogue; the work of twenty-six artists is shown in each.
