Recent Acquisitions

In recognition of the extraordinary range of accomplishment of artists living and working in the Philadelphia area, Anne d'Harnoncourt, Curator of Twentieth Century Painting, and Ann Percy, Associate Curator of Drawings, organized the exhibition Recent Acquisitions: Made in Philadelphia, opening in mid-March, of some 30 paintings, drawings, and prints. The exhibition reflected the Museum's efforts over the past five years to add to its collections the work of contemporary Philadelphia artists. Many were acquired with the aid of grants from the Philadelphia Foundation.
