The Crucifixion, with Saints Jerome, Columba of Sens, and Peter, and a Donor

Master of the Munich Crucifixion Altarpiece

German (active Cologne), active c. 1515 - c. 1520

This crucifixion scene was made as the central panel of a triptych and, remarkably, it has retained its original frame. The wings, which were probably separated from this panel in the early nineteenth century, were recently rediscovered in the collection of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich.
