Teapot and Cover
Image 1 of 21 / 2
This teapot is from the Service de Napoleon III à Compiègne, which was supplied to all the royal residences primarily for use in the staff dining rooms, and was constantly replenished by the Sèvres factory. The name derives from the château to which the initial, and perhaps largest, delivery was made. After Napoleon III was deposed in 1870, the service was sold off. The pieces shown here were purchased by the donor's grandmother.
