The Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple

Giovanni Mauro della Rovere (called Il Fiamminghino)

Italian, c. 1575 - c. 1640

Giovanni Mauro della Rovere and his brothers Giovanni Battista and Marco painted a number of fresco decorations in Lombard churches during the first decades of the seventeenth century. Although this drawing is signed and dated on the reverse, the lunette-shaped painting for which it presumably is a study has not been identified.
