Man's 'Punk Rock' Outfit: Boots
Artist/maker unknownPhiladelphian Adam Greenfield, an avid fan of and writer about the punk rock scene, assembled and personalized this outfit. From the backward cap to the American-made combat boots, each element communicated, to those in the know, his position in that subculture. Although influenced by the sartorial style of the English punk band the Sex Pistols, through his writing on the back of the jacket, Greenfield makes clear his affiliation with the subgenre known as straight edge, whose members abstained from alcohol, recreational drugs, and tobacco.
