An Ancient Gem Representing a Nymph, Two Satyrs and a Herm

Bernard Picart

French, 1673 - 1733

Although small in size, ancient engraved gems supplied artists with a rich repository of visual motifs. The small oval in the upper right of the drawing of the nymph and satyrs indicates the actual size of the gem.
