Woman's Evening Jacket and Dress
Galanos's two hundred-piece fall/winter 1984 collection was unified by a snuggly fitted silhouette that emphasized the body's contours through shirring and drapery at the hipline. In this evening ensemble, a jeweled and beaded bolero lends a sense of extreme luxury to a seductive but plain black dress. Galanos used the printed silk of the jacket as the pattern for the beadwork embroidery.
