"Algues" (Algae) Screen

"Algues" is a room divider system designed by the Bouroullec brothers based around a simple unit, an injection-molded plastic seaweed-like form measuring roughly twelve by ten inches. The algae are joined by hand with pegs; their use is open-ended, and in theory, the algae can be connected into an infinite variety of weblike configurations. The assembled structures are impressive at scale but also fascinating for the individual complexity of their elements, shifting in transparency and density like lace or the leaves of a tree.
