Woman's Wedding Dress

Carolina Herrera, whose elegant style earned her a place in the International Best Dressed Hall of Fame, gave the concept of bridal white an unexpected twist in the skirt of this dress, draped from a single length of striped fabric. The stripes are pale and vertical on the front, but become pronounced in color in back, running diagonally on the unusual asymmetrical bustle and across the train. When Herrera showed this dress on the runway, she added a fantasy element: topping the bustle with a white fabric butterfly (which the real-life bride chose to omit).
