Grace Kelly's Wedding Shoes
America’s top footwear designer created custom-made but elegantly simple shoes for the royal bride. The classic pumps, a style for which David Evins was famous, feature rounded toes and 2½ inch heels. The main design feature is the cordonnet, or thread, outlining the lace motifs, which include a rosette on the top accented with seed pearls and clear glass beads. A copper penny was encased in the right shoe for good luck; the left shoe is embossed with the celebrated client’s name.
