The Vaccination

Leopoldo Méndez

Mexican, 1902 - 1969

Throughout his career, Méndez was an avid supporter of state-funded projects intended to benefit native Mexicans. In 1935, when the government expanded public health facilities into rural areas and launched education programs about malaria, Méndez made this print as a way to demystify the immunization procedure for those who were unable to read the treatment literature.
