Color Motion

Edna Andrade

American, 1917 - 2008

Minimalist and Op artists like Edna Andrade were interested in the psychology of perception, using color juxtapositions and mostly geometric forms to create abstract works that are visually ambiguous or suggest movement. Andrade's Color Motion actively engages viewers' awareness of the act of seeing by using dynamic optical illusions without the distraction of a narrative subject.
