"Lotto" Rug
Artist/maker unknownThe "Lotto" pattern of arabesque forms in this carpet may derive from Persian silk textiles. The term "Lotto" came into use after rugs with this pattern appeared in paintings by the sixteenth-century Venetian artist Lorenzo Lotto.
