Cream Pot

John Strangeways Hutton

American, 1684 - 1792

Image 1 of 21 / 2

John Hutton was first recorded in 1735 as a journeyman working in the shop of the silversmith Joseph Richardson, Sr. Although he lived for more than a century, he seems to have retired from silversmithing in 1747 at age sixty-three. This cream pot may have been made for Richardson by Hutton as a part of his training.
