Covered Platter

This covered platter is one of the earliest pieces of American silver produced in the Swedish style. Yngve Olsson designed it for The Kalo Shop, which specialized in highly-refined, hand-hammered designs, in 1914, probably as a private commission. Such designs were popular, and Olsson supervised the shop's later "Norse" patterns of the late 1920s and 1930s.
