Woman's Evening Dress

In the 1960s, Geoffrey Beene declared traditional ball gowns passé. Reflecting his nonchalant attitude, this mini dress is cut in the fashionable "little girl look" but opulently embellished. Beene used red lace embroidered with nubby metallic yarns and encrusted the sheer yoke with a colorful and varied assortment of glittering three-dimensional sequins, beads, and gems.
