Hamada Atsuya

Japanese, 1931 - 1986

Hamada Atsuya was both son and student of the famous potter Hamada Shöji. He also trained for two years at Bernard Leach's pottery studio in England. The shape of this box refers to the form of traditional Chinese pillows, and the glaze to that of Chinese Jian ware.
