Woman's Evening Dress
Halston, born Roy Halston Frowick, became the darling of the jet set and the quintessential American designer of the 1970s. By the 1970s he had become the supreme American fashion designer, created unconstricted, pared-down yet elegant clothes that were traditional, radically simple, and eminently wearable. Halston's penchant for vibrant colors and his conceptual use of fluid matte jersey are shown in this asymmetrical dress that wraps around itself and extends to form a draped sleeve.
