Throughout July, dishes inspired by the exhibition Souls Grown Deep: Artists of the African American South will be available at the Perelman Café. Crafted by culinary artist-in-residence Nia D. Minard, these dishes are rooted in the food culture of the American South. A new option will be featured each week:
- July 9–14: Gumbo z’herbes, a hearty traditional Creole stew made with up to nine types of leafy greens, served with rice
- July 16–21: Salmon cake sliders
- July 23–28: Turkey wings and stewed okra over butter beans
- July 30–August 4: Pan-fried fish
