Hear LJ Rader, founder of the social media account ArtButMakeItSports, discuss his related book Art But Make It Sports: Epic Matchups Where Art and Sports Collide (Chronicle Books, 2026), which pairs photographs of epic moments in modern sports with their historical fine art doppelgangers. LJ will explore how the exhibition Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments finds connections between the visual languages of art and sports, specifically boxing. He will be in conversation with the exhibition’s guest curator, Paul Farber.

This discussion is preceded by Author Tour: LJ Rader on Art But Make It Sports and Rising Up in the exhibition Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments, in which LJ will be in conversation with Paul Farber and Joslyn Moore. Registration is separate for each program.
